As the 2025-26 school year closes, I would like to provide you with a few messages and words of appreciation for all you do to support McKenzie Towne School.

First, thank you to students, staff and parents for your understanding around my medical leave during the months of May and June as I recovered from knee surgery. As well, I want to extend a thank you to Mrs. Carrie Dayman, who was Acting Principal in my absence, and who supported administrative responsibilities in the school along side Mrs. Woodrow. I truly missed being in the school during that time. I am thrilled to say that I will be back “in the principal’s chair” when school opens for the 2026-27 school year.

Seeing parents as volunteers in the school and on field trips, attending celebrations, and helping with special events including fun lunches has been heart-warming and has filled the school with joy. Thank you to all parents.

We would like to wish students and families who will not be returning to MTS the very best as they move on to different schools and to new learning adventures. For those returning to MTS we look forward to seeing your smiling faces on Monday, August 31 the first day of school for the 2026-27 school year. I will be providing information on staffing for the 2026-27 school year in a September update to parents

Report Cards

Your child's report card was available to view, download and/or print starting from June 25, 2026 to July 31, 2026. Parents / Legal Guardians can sign into  MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from teachers, assignments and grades, and attendance information. After this date, report cards will be removed from your account, so be sure to download and save your copies early.

Class Lists

Because changes occur over the course of the summer, class lists will not be available until the first day of school, August 31, 2026. You can expect to receive an email from your child’s teacher for next year on Friday August 28, 2026. The email will identify who your child’s teacher will be for the coming year and provide information on opening day procedures.

Finally, on behalf of the staff at MTS, I would like to wish all of you, parents and students, a safe, happy and relaxing summer.

We look forward to our return to school on August 31, 2026.

Warm Regards,

Dr. Lorraine Slater
