Terry Fox Run
Today is the Terry Fox Run. The run will start at 9:00am. Afternoon kindergarten will have a mini-run in the afternoon.
It's not to late to send a tonnie in with your student. Our fundraising goal is $1200, which is approximately a toonie for every student and staff member in the school.
MTS Open House
McKenzie Towne School will be hosting an Open House for students and their families tomorrow. Doors will be open at 5:00pm.
This will give you an opportunity to meet your student's teacher and see the school.
Mrs. McLean, our lovely librarian, will also be hosting a Book Sale in the library.
If you are interested in attending this informal event, please feel free to pop into the school any time between 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Fun Lunch is today!
The next Fun Lunch day will be on October 28.
Fun Lunch is only for grades 1-4 and our EES students.

- Log into you existing account or create a new one.
- Add your child’s information in the “add child” box – name, province, city, school, grade and class.
- All Fun Lunches will then populate – select the order now button!
Please make sure to send a morning snack with your child on Fun Lunch Days.
Food Support
Did you know that the Breakfast Club of Canada has shared research demonstrating that 40% of Alberta’s children experience food insecurity? This means that 4 out of 10 children do not have access to food when they are hungry.

Orange Shirt Day
This week, students will spend time reflecting on the meaning of Orange Shirt Day.
Classroom activities throughout the week will include age-appropriate activities related to Indigenous ways of knowing and cultural significance.
On Tuesday September 29, staff and students are encouraged to wear thier Orange Shirts.
The grade 3 classes will be leading the Orange Shirt Day Assembly on Tuesday, September 29. The assembly will start at 9:30. Parents are welcome to attend.
Wednesday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. All CBE schools will be closed.
